I apologize for how long this post is. I teetered with posting about this but after not really seeing many people talk about a big milestone like this, I thought, no, I’m going to post about it! How many people can say their business is turning 5?!

So you know what I did? I got myself a (really delicious) birthday cake for my business and I celebrated! I celebrated with a photoshoot in my favorite place to shoot where I think I took my first favorite photo – the fall leaves in full color on our family’s farm.

I’ve been thinking about this day for a long time. I didn’t think it’d ever come, but here we are. 5 YEARS LATER.

If you would have told me when I was a kid dreaming about being a dentist, that I’d have a photography/design business when I was in my twenties, I would have told you off a million times over. I didn’t think always stealing my mom’s camera and taking photos of the most random things would ever lead to anything. I took 7 years to finish college, which was definitely not the plan but it happened, and it’s 100% helped me get to where I am and helped create this dream.

I know I thank all my clients, friends, and family as much as I can, but they still deserve it today, too. There’s a long list of people I could thank, many of them continuously encouraging and pushing me to keep doing this. There are People who have looked at every social media post and “liked” them and shared them and it means more to me than they’ll ever know.

My wonderful momma deserves the biggest thanks - she has continuously let me leave the house a disaster with equipment and props all over the place and has tried to answer all these unknown business questions I keep asking her, when she isn’t so sure herself. The next biggest thanks goes to my loving fiancé, Brian. I’ve dragged him to sessions, I’ve made him carry things and shake dog treats and kids toys, and he’s always up for going to random places to scout the area or just take pictures of the scenery with me. He also does a great job at constantly keeping me fed so I don’t get hangry.

I can say I am proud of what I’ve done and how far I’ve come, but there’s always room to improve and perfect the dream.

Thank you to all those who have stuck with me from day one, through the early awkwardness, and all the logo changes I’ve done. Sarah Paige Studios is stickin’ around for the long haul! (As soon as Facebook lets me change my business page name.)
